Melloncek
was born from an idea of Andrea Castelli, bass player, guitarist
and composer , and from the collaboration of almost ten years whith
the drummer Matteo Noviello whith whom he litteraly wrote the base
for pieces born out of the continual improvisation of the two musicians.
With
the passing of time their music begins to take on the form real
musical pieces. Following the meeting with Thomas Peres, guitarist
and sound engineer, the eagerness to record in studio in order to
carry out their project, has become a reality.
In
2002, the drums of the group were recorted, even if not all pieces
had as yet a definite form; we decited to work taking into consideration
the several arrangement possibilities, given as a common denomination
a visual concept: an image, still or alive, which could be an inspiration.
This
approach brought about the realisation of an opera comparable to
an artist who gives life to a picture, but instead of using lines
and colours, sounds and rhythms have been chosen. The result is
a mixture of sounds and emotions so lively and balanced that the
need is not felt to insert a vocal line.
After
almost two years, with the invaluable help of many friends and through
almost absurd experiences, the result is a record arranged, played,
and recorded by an ensable who became the actual line up:
